What to Expect After Your Session with Photos by Kelly Lynn

Your session is complete, your family showed up beautifully, and we captured some truly magical moments—yay! But what happens next? I’m so glad you asked. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into delivering your final gallery and what you can expect in the days and weeks after your session.

Step One: Backing Up & Safekeeping

As soon as your session wraps, I head straight to my computer to upload your images to a secure hard drive. I keep all your raw images safely stored there until it’s time to begin editing.

Step Two: Culling the Best of the Best

Once I’m ready to dive in, I begin the culling process—this means I go through every single image and hand-select the very best ones. These are the moments that are filled with connection, emotion, movement, and storytelling—your family at its best.

Step Three: Sneak Peeks

Once I begin editing, I’ll share a sneak peek on Instagram Stories, so be sure you're following me over at @photosbykellylynn! Full session clients will also receive a sneak peek via text—because I know how hard it is to wait and how exciting it is to see those first few images.

Step Four: The Editing Process

Every image you receive is individually hand-edited by me. I start in Lightroom for color correction, tone, and mood, then bring each image into Photoshop for finishing touches. I remove distractions from the background and clean up minor things like bumps, bruises, or scrapes on little arms and legs—because life happens, and we’re here for the love, not the bruises.

This process takes time, and I never rush it. I pour intention and care into every image so that your gallery feels true, timeless, and full of heart.

Step Five: Gallery Delivery

When your gallery is complete, you'll receive an email with access to your private, password-protected online gallery.

• Golden Hour Sessions include full access to download your entire gallery—no need to choose, you get them all!

• Mini Session Clients will have access to a set number of images included in their session package. You’ll also have the option to:

  • Purchase additional images at $25 each

  • Or upgrade to the full gallery at a discounted rate (usually around $150, depending on the total number of images)

    
    

Step Six: Download & Backup

Your gallery will be live for 90 days—plenty of time to download, share, and back up your images. After that, it will be archived. If you'd like it reopened after that time, there is a $50 reactivation fee, assuming the gallery is still available.

Please, please, please download your images to multiple locations (your computer, and a cloud or external drive). Once the gallery expires, I cannot guarantee permanent storage—it’s your responsibility to save those memories!

I know the wait can feel long, but just know that I’m behind the scenes giving your photos all the love they deserve. I can't wait to deliver your gallery and see how you display, share, and relive these sweet moments with your family.
